There was a light snow falling on Boxing Day this year. Puffy Christmas flakes just floating down……ahhhh! A perfect day for a walk in the woods. We have “woods”a five minute drive from our house. And the best part is, not only can you hear the woodpeckers and such, but if you listen closely, you’ll catch the musical hum of the city traffic a few blocks away.
I’m suspicious of any kind of space that’s called “woods”. You're just asking for trouble by going in there with your bare face hanging out. i.e. Denton Woods. Ever heard of it? Well try reading R.D. Wingfield and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about - any of the "Frost" novels -A young girl is reported missing the day before her birthday, and her boyfriend appears to have disappeared as well. The search only turns up unrelated body parts in Denton Woods.
|This isn't Denton Woods but they all look the same..... a lot of trees.|
There were some pretty cool looking trees. And snow. There was snow. What else? Oh yes, a photographer. Every time I go to the woods I see this photographer.
Um....I guess that's it. Woods, snow, photographer......big dog.....yup....that's it. Then I went home and had a glass of wine to calm my nerves. I didn't have nightmares or anything so I'll probably go there again. I'll let you know.........
