Fireworks Folly

This is more of a visual post because really, who needs words when there are photos of fireworks?!

Friday night we went to the Montréal International Fireworks Competition, the largest pyrotechnics competition of its kind in the world.   Held at La Ronde, the amusement park created for Expo 67,
the display was 45 minutes worth of gorgeous!

This was Italy's representation of The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran. The show had 10 'chapters', each one more spectacular than the last.

It's too bad that fireworks can only be done in the dark when kids have to be in bed.  Doesn't seem fair that it's mostly adults that get to see these!

Was a good way to kick off the weekend!

I (mis) read the grand finale this year, was going to be a tribute to the Queen which I thought was very nice seeing as it's her Jubilee year (I did find it odd that it will be presented by an Italian family-owned business and not the U.K., but that's me).  ANYWAY, it turns out that it's a tribute to the music of "Queen"ha ha ha.  Well, either way, I'm sure the fireworks will be beautiful.
