The Big Bang Theory, Both of Them

I bet you thought this was going to be something intelligent didn’t you? WRONG!

I finally watched The Big Bang Theory. I know I know. It premiered in September 2007 and somehow I’ve managed to miss it for 4 years! 4 years! I guess I heard it mentioned but figured it was a show about, uh, the 'Big Bang Theory'. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.  But, if I didn't watch David Suzuki on CBC blabbing about the environment, I probably wouldn't tune into a weekly series on physics.  My mistake.

(It’s an interesting sign of the times that when you Google 'Big Bang Theory' you get a whole list on the television series, and not the, uh, 'Big Bang Theory').

I want one
I like this show. Somehow, I like the characters. OK, they’re kind of nerdy…. geekish……but I like the fact they aren’t stupid like the characters on so many sitcoms. First off, our heroes are physicists. Not so dumb. On the other hand, they love going to the comic book store. I can appreciate that! Mixing tacky and taste is what I do best! I love my collection of prints and art books, on the other hand, I also love my Pez collection (I wonder why I can’t get the Wall-e Pez dispenser here)?

ANYWAY……The Big Bang Theory is on every night so I’ll be caught up in no time.

The Big Bang Theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that our universe did in fact have a beginning. Prior to that moment there was nothing; during and after that moment there was something: our universe. The big bang theory is an effort to explain what happened during and after that moment.

Nope.  I just can't understand "nothing".  I'm going to look at my Pez collection.

  1. Don't feel bad - I just discovered the series recently too. Guess I had to climb out from under my rock sooner or later!

  2. Thanks Kara. I don't feel quite so bad now!
