Idiot Proof Christmas Turkey

Mention "Turkey" and "Cooking" to me and
this is what first comes to mind
I'm the first to admit I don't cook so holiday meals were never my business. Someone else always did the turkey, the baking, the planning…..all I had to do was show up and eat. Now that the talents who put these meals together are gone, it’s up to me and I’ve pulled it off for the last few years. How does a cooking-challenged person manage?

Buy a Stuffed Turkey!

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t put my hands inside a turkey and (yuck) pull out whatever’s in there. I don’t care if it’s in a bag! It’s internal and I’m not interested. But wouldn’t you know, there’s always someone with a great idea and I’m wild about whoever thought up stuffed turkeys. (xoxox to you)! They go into the oven frozen, and come out cooked. How great is that!!! The stuffing is excellent and no one will know the difference. It looks like turkey, tastes like turkey, smells like turkey….it must be turkey!

I’ll be passing on other sophisticated household tips as I think of them (if I think of them that is). This is fun! Look out Martha.

(The above, of course, is a last resort.  First try to get someone else to cook or, if you're really lucky, turkey take-out).

  1. I love to cook but I'm still not comfortable sticking my hand inside the turkey... gross. This year I think I'll let take care of that for me :-)

  2. OMG. I have to live there! Picard looks fantastic!
