My Week In Review

A rainy day in Montmartre
is better than....anything!
Where does the time go?  Whoooosh!  It's gone.  Even with vacation days, free time just seems to zip by!  I've come to the conclusion that the only time worth taking off is for visiting Paris. I've embossed this right into my brain so I won't forget (as if I could).  The strikes wouldn't bother me.....c'est normal!  (Can you see me shrugging)?

With all the construction work going at our house it wasn't easy, but I did manage to do some reading - mostly at night when the noise died down.  I finished "The Lord's Motel" by Gail Donohue Storey and can highly recommend it.  (I know we have the same name but really......we've never even met)!  She's a very talented writer (and traveller) and you can visit her web page and read the reviews if you don't believe me.

I also went to the McGill Book Fair which is an annual event with a zillion books to choose from.  I picked up way too many considering I'm supposed to be cutting down on the load but who can resist?  Lots of books on Paris, art, history and everything I absolutely NEED to survive.

What else......a bit of cleaning but who cares?  A bit of packing but again, who cares?  I even bore myself just thinking of it!

No, I've made the decision and this won't happen again.  Next vacation I'm getting on a plane and the City of Light will be waiting for me on the other end!  (After all, I can read on the plane and the house won't get dirty with us not in it - right?  RIGHT)!

I'm going to sit in the corner and sulk.

  1. Susan, thank you so much for this mention of my book on your blog--I'm thrilled and glad you liked The Lord's Motel! You're a wonderful writer yourself, and I very much enjoy your blog with your unique perspective and humor.

  2. Easy to write good things about such a wonderful book and writer! Wish I was capable of thinking up a story but alas, all I can do is babble :)
