From Linda Blair to Wuthering Heights

Heathcliff and Catherine
I can’t concentrate today.

I wonder what ever happened to Linda Blair? Right off the bat I know some of you are saying Linda who? I don’t know why I thought of her today, because I never saw 'The Exorcist' or any other of her movies for that matter. But I do remember people talking about her head doing a 360 and green goo coming out of her mouth.

I guess it’s the weather. It’s an overcast day, coolish, and looking a little on the "moody" side….which reminds me of scary movies (even ones I've never seen) and gothic novels…

Which reminds me of Wuthering Heights.

Wuthering Heights was written by Emily Bronte and was her only novel. Imagine publishing a book in 1847 and having people reading it in 2010. Now that’s what I call well done and quit while you’re ahead. For those of you who haven’t read it, run out and buy a copy. Fall is the time to read about Heathcliff and Catherine on the Yorkshire moors.

And what a wonderful movie! The 1939 version that is. Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. Not quite as evil as the book if I remember correctly.

Oh yes, Wuthering Heights which reminds me of the Kate Bush song of the same title.  What a great song. Wonder what Kate Bush is doing these days?

See?  I told you I was having trouble concentrating today.  Maybe I'll watch Wuthering Heights tonight and try to focus!

I used to love watching that film on a cold fall or winter afternoon -Bob Pearson

  2. I love Wuthering Heights! Wow, that Laurence Olivier! They don't make em like him anymore!

  3. You got that right! He was good as a young man, and right up to his last film.

  4. I know who Emily Bronte is and Sir Lawrence Olivier (be still my heart) and Merle Oberon and I vaguely recall hearing the name Kate Bush but I am not hip to who she is (was?)
