|I see trouble!|
Today I saw a Montreal driver pull a stunt straight out of Hollywood. The details would be kind of dull to read, but let me just say briefly that to avoid an oncoming car, the driver accelerated, headed into the oncoming traffic lane, zipped back into his own lane, and sped off in a style worthy of the "Bourne Ultimatum". You could hear the collective "ahhhhhhh" of admiration all along Sherbrooke Street.
Quebec drivers don't have the best reputation but truthfully, I've seen worse. The drivers in Montreal are faced with several major obstacles:
Cyclists (no need to expand on this)
Pedestrians who basically let the traffic go around them (seemingly unaware that a big piece of machinery hitting you at a good speed might really really hurt)
Potholes Big deal you say? Yes, they are. A BIG HUGE GARGANTUAN HUMONGOUS deal! The potholes in Montreal actually suck cars right in and who knows if they ever come out? I read that plastic bags, not being biodegradable, take up to 1,000 years to break down into smaller particles. Well, here's the answer. All we have to do is take all those plastic bags we're not allowed to use and stuff them in the potholes. Bob's your uncle! Green and economical at the same time.
Enjoy the ride :)
