Chanel Snob

ChanelImage via Wikipedia

I love Chanel but it's getting harder and harder to tell fake from authentic these days, at least from a distance. Maybe the real Chanel doesn't use plastic and nylon, but you certainly can get a fabulous looking logo for next to nothing. There are several similarities between real Chanel and fake Chanel, aside from the obvious:

Real Chanel has alarms on their mannequins
Fake Chanel has brass knuckles under the table

Real Chanel  put huge logos on their handbags
Fake Chanel put huge logos on their handbags

Real Chanel removes the jewelry from the windows at night
Fake Chanel removes their entire store at night

  • If you can't pay for the real Chanel, you go to jail
  • If you get caught buying the fake Chanel, you go to jail

Now I don't like to brag, but I do have an authentic pair of Chanel glasses which I only wear on special occasions (the rest of the time I squint).  At least I assume they're real because they came with a case, an international guarantee card, and I bought them from a real store.  I was disappointed to see they're "Made in Italy" but there you go.  Nothing is sacred these days.

..And I have an empty bottle of Chanel #5 perfume that needs to be re-filled.
It's so sacred that I can't seem to get that done. sd:)
