When I was a kid my mother used to go through our loot and re-treat all the candy that would pull our fillings out. Basically the hard to chew kisses. Let the mother down the block worry about it – maybe her kids had tougher teeth. (Bet her kids had more fun too if they were allowed to keep the kisses). There was always one house we could count on to give us a toffee apple which we were allowed to keep. Guess the “apple” part made it seem healthy.

Halloween here is pretty big. The stores are decorated and people go all out with pumpkins, lights, sound effects and every haunted house/graveyard theme you can think of but…..
I’m surprised that this isn’t considered a “no-no” these days trying to frighten little kids and all. Maybe the houses should be rated:
G for General pumpkins
PG for Pumpkins and Ghouls
R for Rattling chains, graveyards and vampires at the door.
